          Detained without legal representation or external support, Danny William Perez discovered that his right to one hour of outdoor time — guaranteed by Quebec law and international human rights — was being denied.<br/>
          He didn't file a complaint. He filed a <b>habeas corpus</b>. By hand. Behind bars. Alone.<br/>
          He drafted it, got it sworn with the help of a correctional officer, and filed it through the court system. He brought the Quebec government before the Superior Court — twice — and won.<br/>
          Those victories laid the foundation for what is now Class Action No. 500-06-001298-245, officially authorized by the Quebec Superior Court on December 12, 2024.</p>
