New Feature: Collaborative Coding in GoCodeMe

Collaborative coding in GoCodeMe IDE

Code Together, Build Faster

GoCodeMe now supports real-time collaborative coding. Multiple developers can work on the same project simultaneously — editing files, running terminals, and chatting with Alfred — all in a shared workspace. Think Google Docs, but for code.

How It Works

Open any project in GoCodeMe and click the Share button in the top toolbar. You will receive a unique session link that you can send to collaborators. When they open the link, they join your workspace instantly — no account required for guests, though signing in unlocks full editing permissions.

Key Features

  • Live Cursors — See where each collaborator is typing in real time. Each person gets a unique color and name label on their cursor.
  • Shared Terminal — Run commands in a shared terminal that all participants can see. Perfect for pair programming, debugging sessions, and code reviews.
  • Conflict-Free Editing — The system uses operational transformation to merge simultaneous edits without conflicts. Two people can edit the same file at the same time without overwriting each other's work.
  • Alfred for Everyone — All participants can interact with Alfred in the shared workspace. Ask Alfred to generate code, explain a function, or refactor a module — the response appears for everyone.
  • Session History — Every collaborative session is automatically recorded. Review changes, replay edits, and restore previous states from the session timeline.

Use Cases

Pair programming with a remote colleague. Live code reviews with your team. Teaching a junior developer by coding alongside them. Client demos where you build features in real time. Hackathons where speed and coordination matter.

Availability

Collaborative coding is available on all Pro and Business plans. Each session supports up to 10 simultaneous participants. Start a session today from any GoCodeMe workspace.
