Creating Custom Voice Profiles

GoSiteMe's voice system supports custom voice profiles, allowing you to create unique voice identities for Alfred or any voice-enabled feature on your site. Custom profiles go beyond selecting a pre-built voice—they let you fine-tune pitch, speed, accent, and emotional tone to match your brand.

What Is a Voice Profile?

A voice profile is a saved configuration that defines how Alfred (or any text-to-speech output) sounds. It includes the base voice model, speed multiplier, pitch adjustment, emotional tone, and pronunciation overrides.

Creating a New Profile

  1. Navigate to Alfred → Voice → Profiles.
  2. Click Create Profile.
  3. Name your profile (e.g., "Customer Support Voice" or "Brand Narrator").
  4. Select a base model:
    • Kokoro: Natural, warm tone—great for conversational contexts.
    • Orpheus: Expressive with nuanced emotional delivery.
    • Cartesia Sonic: Ultra-fast, low-latency for real-time interactions.
  5. Adjust the sliders:
    • Speed: 0.5× (slow) to 2.0× (fast). Default is 1.0×.
    • Pitch: -50% (deeper) to +50% (higher).
    • Stability: Controls consistency vs. expressiveness.
  6. Click Preview to hear a sample with your settings.
  7. Click Save Profile.

Adding Pronunciation Overrides

If Alfred mispronounces your brand name, product names, or industry jargon, add custom pronunciations:

  1. In your voice profile, scroll to Pronunciation Dictionary.
  2. Click Add Word.
  3. Enter the word and its phonetic spelling (IPA or respelling).
  4. Test with the Preview button.

Assigning Profiles to Contexts

You can assign different voice profiles to different areas of your platform:

  • Website chatbot: Use a friendly, conversational profile.
  • Phone IVR: Use a clear, professional profile with slower speed.
  • Internal development: Use a fast, concise profile for Alfred's coding assistance.
  • Video narration: Use the Orpheus model for its expressive range.

Sharing Profiles

Export a voice profile as a JSON file from the profile settings page and share it with team members or import it into another GoSiteMe account. This is especially useful for agencies managing multiple client accounts with consistent branding.
