Apocalypse of Abraham 9
1
And in the light there rose up a mighty fire, and in it I heard a voice like the sound of many waters, like the voice of the sea when it rages.
2
And the angel bowed his head with me and worshipped, and I desired to fall to the earth. But the high place where we stood was now upside down, and now right side up, spinning this way and that.
3
And the angel said: Worship, Abraham! And sing to Him the song which the master of all things has taught me.
4
And he said: Eternal, Mighty, Holy El, God only-supreme, thou who art self-originated, incorruptible, spotless, uncreate, immaculate, immortal, self-complete, self-illuminating.
5
Without mother, without father, unbegotten, exalted, fiery one! Lover of men, benevolent, bountiful, jealous over me, and very compassionate! Eli, that is, my God.
6
Eternal, almighty, holy Sabaoth, very glorious El, El, El, El, Jaoel! Thou art He whom my soul hath loved. My protector!
7
Eternal, fiery, shining, light-giving, thunder-voiced, lightning-visioned, many-eyed! Receiving the petitions of those who honour thee, and turning away from the petitions of those who constrain thee by the constraint of their provocations.
8
Redeemer of those who dwell in the midst of the wicked ones, of those who are dispersed among the just of the world, who are amid the corruptible ones in the Age. Showing forth the age of the just.
9
Thou who renewest the age of the righteous! Light of light shining before the morning light upon thy creatures.
10
And the heavenly ones shall hasten to thy word, for thou art gracious to those who call upon thee in the multitude of thy mercy.
