Google Analytics & Search Console Integration

Google Analytics & Search Console Integration

Connecting Google Analytics and Google Search Console to your GoSiteMe website gives you deep insights into visitor behavior and search performance. This guide walks you through setup, verification, and interpreting your data.

Setting Up Google Analytics

  1. Go to analytics.google.com and create an account if you don't have one.
  2. Create a new GA4 property for your website.
  3. Copy the Measurement ID (format: G-XXXXXXXXXX).
  4. In your GoSiteMe Dashboard, go to Settings → Analytics.
  5. Paste the Measurement ID and click Save.

GoSiteMe automatically injects the Google Analytics tracking script into every page of your website. No manual code editing is required.

Setting Up Google Search Console

  1. Go to search.google.com/search-console.
  2. Click Add Property and enter your domain.
  3. Choose the DNS verification method.
  4. In your GoSiteMe Dashboard, go to Hosting → DNS and add the TXT record provided by Google.
  5. Return to Search Console and click Verify. Verification may take a few minutes.

Linking Analytics & Search Console

Linking the two services lets you see search query data inside Google Analytics:

  1. In Google Analytics, go to Admin → Product Links → Search Console Links.
  2. Click Link and select your Search Console property.
  3. Confirm the data stream and click Submit.

Key Reports to Monitor

  • Search Console — Performance: See which search queries bring visitors, your average ranking position, click-through rates, and impressions.
  • Analytics — Acquisition: Understand where your traffic comes from (organic, direct, social, referral).
  • Analytics — Engagement: Track page views, session duration, bounce rate, and conversion events.
  • Search Console — Coverage: Identify indexing issues, crawl errors, and pages excluded from Google's index.

GoSiteMe Dashboard Integration

Your GoSiteMe Dashboard includes a Quick Analytics widget that shows key metrics without leaving the platform. For detailed analysis, click View Full Report to open Google Analytics directly.

Tips

  • Submit your sitemap (sitemap.xml) in Search Console to help Google discover your pages.
  • Set up conversion goals in Analytics to track form submissions, purchases, or sign-ups.
  • Use the URL Inspection tool in Search Console to check how Google sees any specific page.
  • Ask Alfred: "Alfred, how is my website performing in Google search this month?" for a quick summary.
