Epistle of Barnabas 21
1
It is good therefore to learn the just ordinances of the Lord, as many as have been written above, and to walk in them. For he that doeth these things shall be glorified in the kingdom of God.
2
He that chooseth the other part shall perish together with his works. For this cause there is a resurrection, for this cause there is a retribution.
3
I beseech those who are in high positions, if ye will receive any counsel of my good will, have among you those to whom ye may do good: fail not.
4
The day is at hand, in which all things shall be destroyed together with the Evil One. The Lord is near and his reward.
5
Again and again I beseech you: be good lawgivers one to another; continue faithful counsellors one to another; take away from you all hypocrisy.
6
And may God, who is Lord of all the world, give you wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and insight into His ordinances with patience.
7
And be ye taught of God, seeking diligently what the Lord requireth of you, and do it that ye may be found in the day of judgment.
8
And if there be any remembrance of good, remember me by meditating on these things, that both my desire and my vigilance may lead to some good result. I beseech you asking it as a favour.
9
While the good vessel is still with you, fail not in any of these things, but unceasingly seek out these things and fulfil every commandment. For these things are worthy of attention.
