1
And eighteen days passed by. Then Satan was angry and transformed himself into the brightness of an angel and went to Eve at the river Tigris.
2
And he found her weeping, and Satan himself pretended to weep. And he said to her: Come out of the water and rest. The Lord God has heard your penance.
3
And I and all the angels have entreated on your behalf, and the Lord has sent me to bring you out of the water and to give you the food that you had in paradise.
4
And Eve heard and believed, and she came out of the water. And her flesh was like grass from the cold of the water. And she fell on the earth and lay like the dead.
5
And the devil raised her up and led her to Adam. And when Adam saw her and the devil with her, he cried out with tears and said: O Eve, Eve, where is your penance?
6
How have you been again seduced by our adversary, by whom we were estranged from our abode in paradise and from spiritual joy?
