And when Eve heard this, she recognized that it was the devil who had persuaded her to come out of the water. And she fell on her face on the earth and her sorrow was doubled.

And she cried out and said: Woe to thee, devil! Why dost thou fight against us? What have we done to thee, that thou shouldst pursue us with deceit?

When thou wast created, I was cast out from the presence of God and was sent forth from the fellowship of the angels. When God blew the breath of life into thee, and thy countenance was made in the image of God, Michael brought thee and made us worship thee in the sight of God.

And the Lord God said: Behold, Adam, I have made thee in my image and likeness. And Michael went forth and called all the angels saying: Worship the image of the Lord God, as the Lord God has commanded.
